MESZL is preparing for the summer
In summer we are constantly waiting for our readers in libraries.
Due to growing interest in our services, this year we are open throughout the summer, without a summer break. Please, check our chart for summer opening hours of all our branch libraries, during the period 5 July-5 September 2021.We have some good news to share. We offer our book delivery service again from 9th June. The Library delivers requested documents to be loaned to the home of users bound temporarily or permanently for home stay due to illness or disability; if necessary, player devices are also delivered. You can find more details on the list of participant branch libraries under Services menu.
For documents borrowed before the reopening on 5th May the due date of grace period expires on 30th June. To avoid queuing it is recommended to return books before the due date.
Based on the current government regulation only users with Immunity Certificate can visit the library and persons under the age of 18 accompanied by them. People under 18 can visit the library alone if they have own Immunity Card or Immunity Certificate in EESZT application, and you will need to provide proof of identity. It remains obligatory to wear a mask and to observe the regulation of social distancing. For more details, please click here.
For readers without Immunity Certificate the service of the Library Swap Point provides access to the collection. Documents requested in advance and reserved can be borrowed without entering the library. It is also possible to register, return borrowed documents and settle previous debts at Library Swap Points. We offer some reader friendly services – free reservation is also available until 5th September.
The service of database use is free for readers with valid membership card. Those readers who do not have reader’s card authorizing to borrow, can receive a virtual card after online registration; - it is valid for 30 days. The Library from home service is available by phone, on Skype or via e-mail.
From 5th July it will be possible for tourists to visit the Central Library – housed in the Wenckheim Palace. We continue to restart cultural events, exhibitions. Summer classical music concerts (free of charge) will be held in the neighbouring Pálffy Palace in late July. The concerts can only be attended with Immunity Certificate.
